Ways Technology has changed our Lifestyle for the Worse

We live in an era where technology is in everything. From shopping to ordering food to education, technology has brought drastic changes to our lifestyles. It has its pros and cons, so people need to know to use technology wisely, even though that is not what has been happening lately. People are forgetting their values, beliefs and etiquette on the verge of becoming tech-savvy so here are some of those changes.

  1. We record memories than experience

How many of you have actually experienced a special moment than being busy videoing it? The problem is, we have smart phones right in our hands so it has become easier to record anything any time. However, what you may not realize is that you are missing out on a lot. The recordings and pictures in your phones and tabs may erase with time, but your memories will last a lifetime.

  1. No dinner time conversations

Dinner time conversations have become a thing of the past. Yes of course you may sit down with your entire family for dinner but all are busy on their phones chatting, watching videos, listening to music etc. This may largely cause the loss of family values and relationship among members. Think about the last time you talked about your day at the dinner table with your family. Surely, it might be years back.

  1. More the technology, lesser the brain

We have become slaves of technology so much that we cannot even think without a phone. As technology advances and we get everything done through a computer, our thinking power decreases. We become lazy couch potatoes, since now we don’t have to stand up to even change the TV channel. This will drastically cause the future generations to be less intelligent.

  1. The selfies

Technology has such a huge impact that the word ‘selfie’ was added to the dictionary. Nowadays, young as well as adults are building up the trend of taking selfies wherever they go. The craze has come up to the stage where people even lose their lives trying to take a selfie. Is taking a picture important than your life? The mentality of the youth on such things is what we need to focus on.

  1. We communicate differently

Communication has taken a toll with the advancement of technology. Instead of meeting up, we simply give a call or video chat on Skype. Yes of course it’s good to communicate with people away, but does that mean forgetting the ones close? Just imagine you meet up with a bunch of friends for dinner and everyone starts using their phones to check social media updates and emails. What’s the whole point of meeting up? So use technology wisely.
